Kelly Ann Evans
My name is Kelly Ann Evans and I am a Senior at UNC Chapel Hill. I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. I am the youngest of four children, and was an athlete my whole life. I am a psychology major, an avid yogi, and a Harry Potter fan. At the beginning of the current pandemic, I decided to ask myself what I was really excited about in life. I discovered just how much I love good food and wine. I then started my journey into wine, and I have not looked back since. I read the book Wine Girl by Victoria James, and I was so inspired. I learned how little women there are in the wine industry, and how little they are appreciated. I applied for this scholarship and wanted to change that. I believe there should be more women and people of color in the wine industry, and I am so grateful to the Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation for this incredible scholarship.
"I am honored and humbled to receive the Women of the Vine & Spirits “Fuel Your Dreams Scholarship Award.” I believe there should be more women in the wine industry, and I will use this scholarship to go far in my wine education and become a powerful woman in the world of wine."
