Lindsey Johnson grew her curiosity about wine while spending over a decade in the hospitality industry, serving at restaurants in both Chicago, IL. and Milwaukee, WI.. Upon finishing her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from DePaul University, she began her corporate career in Category Management in Retail Grocery. Progressing through the Kroger organization over the past eight years, she has been recently promoted to Regional Beer, Wine, and Spirits Category Manager for The Kroger Company. In March of 2020, shortly after receiving her WSET Level 2 Certification in Wine & Spirits, Lindsey created the first “Women Behind the Wine” program in the Chicago-based supermarket, Mariano’s, educating consumers about their favorite female Winemakers, founders, & Brand Ambassadors who continue to make waves with wine. One of her biggest missions in her role is to pass wine education on to Kroger customers through interactive programs, tastings, recipes, in-store events and more. Not only does she believe that wine should be shared, but also that it should be fun and not intimidating, and that everyone deserves the opportunity to discover something they love about wine.
"I’m incredibly honored to receive the Fuel Your Dreams Scholarship from the Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation and to be among many brilliant and impactful women paving the way for diversity in the Wine Industry. With this scholarship, not only am I able to continue learning about wine and better myself professionally but I’m able to continue to share my love and passion of wine with others."
