Since day one, Debbie has been intrigued by the idea of blends. It all began in the fertile soils of California’s Central Valley, where she grew up surrounded by vineyards and diverse landscapes.
This passion eventually led Debbie to earn her bachelor’s degree in geology from California State University at Stanislaus. It wasn’t long before her interest in soil nurtured a passion for wine grapes, which sparked a lifelong journey to craft bold blends that leave a lasting impression.
In 1995, Debbie joined her first winery as an analytical technician, followed by four years of research before finally joining a distinguished winemaking team. Today, she is the winemaker behind the wildly popular Apothic blends. During her tenure, Debbie has worked with dozens of winemakers and developed a refined palate. She combines all of these attributes to make the signature Apothic blends. “Each blend tells a story,” Debbie explains. “Whether it’s one of drama, intrigue or romance, the wines of Apothic are truly original.”
At home, Debbie enjoys putting together new blends and recipes in her kitchen, as she fills in as the sous chef to her husband. She runs marathons, cycles and loves discovering new parts of Tahoe and San Francisco with her family.
