Brooklyn Bain

2020 Fuel Your Dreams Award Winner - FL

Fresh out of university, Brooklyn Bain began her journey into the beverage industry as most would expect. Brooklyn started as a hostess in a fine dining establishment and was able to absorb her environment from afar and after a while, began showing great interest in the bar atmosphere where she would carefully watch the bartenders and ask questions. Until one day, making the position her own. Brooklyn credits her success as a Sommelier to the prestigious and highly structured program at Commander's Palace in New Orleans where she achieved her goal of Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommelier’s program.

Today Brooklyn continues her studies through various avenues in her new home on the Florida Gulf Coast. Taking on this journey is nothing light; it takes years of dedication, sacrifice, and patience to achieve. "Becoming a Sommelier is not a journey to take alone, you need study partners to help along the way, not only to off-set the cost of wine during blind tastings but for structure and support. The Beverage Industry is ever-evolving, and if you have the passion for it, you never want to stop learning."

"I am incredibly honored to be receiving this “Women Behind the Wine” Fuel Your Dreams Scholarship Award from E. & J. Gallo. Wine has not only become a passion for me but is also driving me to be a better professional. This scholarship will contribute immensely to me not only to continue my education and pay it forward to those around me."
