As Kristin Scheelar listened to a Sommelier discuss the technique behind making the wines at a dinner, a lightbulb turned on in her head. In that moment, her lifelong passion for the breathtaking landscape of the Pacific Northwest and involvement in the local wine community came together. 

She returned to school to study Wine Production at South Seattle Community College, with courses taught by the same Sommelier who inspired her career change. More than a decade later, Kristin is now the Winemaker for Columbia Winery. 

"We value creativity, innovative thinking and choose to honor the land with every release. I am proud to make wines that are true to their varietal character and reflect the unique regions where they grow – I get excited to see what nature will provide with each new vintage,” Kristin says.
