Florencia Gomez
Florencia Gomez is originally from Mendoza, Argentina, and started her wine journey back in 2008 at UTN University, where she obtained her winemaking degree. After her first winemaking experience at Achaval-Ferrer in 2010, she has worked nine harvests in Napa Valley, Mendoza, Burgundy, and Croatia, working for Domaine Chandon US, Terrazas de Los Andes, and Trinchero Family Estates, among others.
Seeking to have a more comprehensive outlook of the international trade, Florencia later worked for three years as an Export Sales Manager for Grupo Peñaflor, being responsible for multiple European Markets while focusing on the luxury and e-commerce channels. Within this experience, she discovered a great passion for communication, consumers, and global trends.
Nowadays, she is a Master of Wine student based in London, and she works as a freelancer, developing marketing strategies and creating content for wine brands worldwide. She is passionate about exploring innovative ways to reach modern wine consumers, and she deeply believes in a down to earth approach to wine that is transparent, accessible, environmentally-conscious, diversity inclusive, and ultimately gender-equitable.
"I am incredibly grateful to the Woman of the Vine & Spirits and E & J Gallo for such fantastic recognition. In today's challenging context, it is a tremendous motivation not only to keep moving forward with my MW studies, but also an invitation to keep engaging with important topics such as gender equality, cultural diversity, and sustainable practices within the wine industry. I am extremely happy, thankful, and honored I have been selected for such recognition."
