Nicole Vejar

My name is Nicole Vejar & I am a Wife, Mama, Director of Hospitality, Certified Event Coordinator, Level 1 Sommelier, and Lover of Life. I am passionate about helping others and try to find joy in any and every small achievement. 

I was born and raised here in Oakdale, CA - "Cowboy Capital of the World". I love this small town and am proud to be raising a family in it. However, my dream is to one day move to the Napa/Sonoma area and pursue a career somewhere in the wine industry- whether it be in winemaking or working in the hospitality sector. 

I have worked at Oakdale Golf and Country Club for over 9 years now. I am so blessed to call my coworkers and members of the club "family", and I absolutely love the Food & Beverage Industry. About two years ago I found myself becoming more and more interested in wine. From how it is made, to tasting notes, pairings, etc. I became infatuated. I listened to podcasts, watched movies and documentaries on viticulture and enology, read books, and eventually decided to join the Court of Master Sommeliers and start the journey to becoming a Somm. I am currently a Level 1, pursuing my Level 2. I am also finishing up my AS degree in Business Operations and am planning to sign up with VESTA to continue my Viticulture and Enology schooling. 

My son and husband are my biggest motivators, I always want to make them proud. It is very important to me that my son knows that achieving any goal you set your mind to is completely possible. There are times that I get down on myself for waiting this long to get back into school & for taking this long to find my true passion, but I truly believe that "late is better than never". With faith and a little perseverance, anything is possible!
